1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Ashish Dua Consulting Corporation, a corporation based in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, operating as DuaDesk (“Dua”, “we”, “us”), for your use of the Dua Marriage Companion at marriage.duadesk.com and its related pages and apps (the “Service”).
Each partner accepts these Terms individually, for themself. Partner 1 accepts when signing up; Partner 2 accepts on their first sign-in. By using the Service you also acknowledge our Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle your personal data.
2. Private beta
The Service is in private beta. Access is by invitation and approval. Features may change, be paused or be removed, and the Service may contain errors. During the beta we recommend that you do not enter real financial figures or official identity documents. The Service is currently free of charge; we will tell you clearly before any paid feature applies to you.
3. Who can use Dua
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement under Indian law.
- The Service is for two people in, or planning, a relationship or marriage, who both choose to use it. Do not sign someone up without their knowledge.
- Give accurate information, and use your own email address. Each person may hold only their own account.
4. What Dua is, and is not
Dua offers reflection, guided conversations, planning tools, information, and an AI-guided ceremonial experience. Dua is not:
- a matchmaking or dating service;
- clinical therapy, psychological treatment, or medical care — guidance sessions are supportive reflection, not treatment;
- legal advice — Dua Legal Guide gives general legal information only; always confirm with a qualified lawyer in each country involved;
- financial, tax or investment advice — Dua Arth helps you organise and discuss information only;
- a legal marriage — the AI-guided ceremony is a ceremonial experience. A marriage must be solemnised and registered under the applicable law, separately from Dua.
Dua does not promise any particular outcome for your relationship, your wedding, or any legal, financial or immigration matter.
5. AI features
Parts of the Service use artificial intelligence, provided through third-party AI service providers. AI output can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and may not suit your situation. Where we say content is reviewed by a person before you see it (for example, money packs and conversation summaries), we follow that process, but review does not guarantee accuracy. The AI never composes sacred text: mantras are used only as recorded and approved. Do not rely on AI output for important decisions without checking with a qualified professional.
6. Privacy between partners
- Your reflections and private notes are visible only to you unless you choose to share them. Some areas (such as “Us”, the journey map and approved moment cards) are shared between you by design.
- When you share something with your partner, it is recorded in your consent log. Once your partner has seen something, we cannot make them un-see it.
- Changing your relationship stage, agreeing a target date, adding a shared step and sharing a moment card each need both partners’ agreement.
- Only share information about other people (such as family members) when it is necessary and fair to do so.
- Your rights over your personal data, including access, correction, erasure and grievance redressal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, are set out in our Privacy Notice.
7. Safety
Dua is not an emergency or crisis service and is not monitored in real time. If you or anyone else is in danger, call 112 immediately. You can also call the Women Helpline on 181 or Tele-MANAS on 14416. If something you write suggests risk of harm, ordinary features may pause and we may show you helplines and reach out to you privately. We will not tell your partner about a safety concern you raise.
8. Your account and sign-in
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to your email secure, do not forward your invitation link or codes, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account. You can sign out of all devices from the app. We may suspend access to protect you, your partner or the Service.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Dua to monitor, pressure, threaten, harass or control your partner or anyone else;
- impersonate anyone, or access an account that is not yours;
- post content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit or that infringes anyone’s rights;
- attempt to break, overload, scrape, copy or reverse-engineer the Service, or bypass its security;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it.
10. Your content
You own what you write and upload. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process and display your content only to provide the Service to you and your partner — including processing by our hosting, email and AI service providers under contractual terms. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your private reflections for advertising. You are responsible for the content you provide.
11. Sharing outside Dua
Moment cards can be shared only after both partners approve them, and are shared through your own phone. Dua does not connect to your social media accounts. Once you post or send something outside Dua, the terms of that platform apply and we cannot control who sees it.
12. Guided sessions
Guided sessions with a Dua counsellor or guide are supportive conversations, not clinical therapy. Bookings may use third-party scheduling tools. Sessions are currently free during the beta; any fees will be agreed with you in advance.
13. Pausing or closing your journey
You can pause privately at any time. Closing your journey in the app does not end a marriage or any legal relationship. Separation and divorce are legal processes — please speak with a family lawyer.
14. Our content
The Service, its design, text, questions, guides, recordings and software belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may use them only for your personal, non-commercial use of the Service. Mantra recordings are used under licence and may not be copied or redistributed.
15. Changes, suspension and ending
- We may update these Terms. If we make a material change, we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue using the Service.
- You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account and data, as described in the Privacy Notice.
- We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect anyone’s safety.
16. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, especially during the beta. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about its accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose.
17. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss arising from decisions you make based on information, AI output or guidance in the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000 if you have paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
18. Indemnity
You agree to compensate us for reasonable losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Service.
19. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact our Grievance Officer first; we will try to resolve any concern amicably. Subject to that, the courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction.

21. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor that continues the Service under equivalent terms. If a translation of these Terms differs from the English version, the English version applies.
